INEC: ADC creates awareness on vote exercise

By Ahead of November 6, Governorship election in Anambra state, the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has commenced sensitization exercise to promote the registration of voter exercise.

The sensitization exercise took place recently across the markets in Anambra state, geared towards informing the public of the need to procure their voter’s card.

During the awareness campaign, it was observed that many youths, were oblivious of the registration exercise.

The Publicity Secretary of State party, Barr Ifenla Jedidiah disclosed that it is the responsibility of parties, especially the ADC to create awareness and ensure strict compliance to the exercise.

Barr Jedidiah said voter’s card is the power of every citizen, to install or oust any government.

“Reason for disenfranchisement lack of voter’s card. If you have a voter’s card you have your future in your hand.

“From the feedback, some complain of non-availability of internet facilities, why some comply lack of money to go to a cyber cafe for the registration.

“So we call on INEC to facilitate its physical exercise to accommodate those who cannot afford the online registration process,” Jedidiah added.

Also speaking, the National Youth Leader of the party, Mr Maurice Oru Ebam observed that youths were angry with the electoral system of the nation.

Mr Ebam said, “the system has betrayed the youths, but we must forgive and move ahead. We must get it right by doing the legitimate things we ought to do.”

The Ward Chairman in Amawbia community, Mr Nnamdi Onwuzulike said the party had finalized every arrangement to emerge victorious in the coming November 6 election.
