ADC Assures Members of Ballot Participation Ahead of 2027 Elections

The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has reaffirmed the party’s readiness to participate fully in the 2027 general elections, dismissing concerns that ongoing legal challenges could hinder its inclusion on the ballot.

Speaking on Wednesday evening after receiving a detailed briefing from the party’s legal team, Senator Mark expressed strong confidence in the ADC’s legal position following a recent ruling by the Federal High Court in Abuja. He assured party members that the litigations currently facing the party would not derail its electoral ambitions.

Addressing fears among party faithful, Senator Mark emphasized that there was no cause for alarm. He maintained that the ADC is well-prepared to navigate the legal processes and is determined to secure favourable outcomes in all pending cases. According to him, the party remains committed to pursuing every lawful avenue to ensure its participation in the elections.

Senator Mark further underscored his personal commitment to the legal battle, noting that although he is not a lawyer, he intends to provide strong leadership throughout the process. His remarks conveyed a message of resilience and determination, aimed at reinforcing confidence within the party ranks.

In response to the court’s judgment, the ADC’s legal team has already initiated an appeal and filed for a stay of execution, signaling a proactive approach to addressing the challenges ahead.

The reassurance comes at a pivotal moment as the ADC ramps up preparations for the 2027 elections. Party leaders view the legal developments as part of a broader process that will ultimately strengthen the party’s position.

Earlier, the legal team had briefed Senator Mark and other senior party officials on the implications of the court ruling and outlined strategic steps for the cases moving forward. The leadership expressed confidence that the measures being taken will secure the party’s place on the ballot.

Senator Mark’s statements are expected to bolster morale among members and supporters, while reaffirming the ADC’s determination to overcome legal obstacles and remain a competitive force in Nigeria’s political landscape.
