ADC Launches 90 Day Nationwide Membership Registration, Sets Dates for Congresses and National Convention

The African Democratic Congress ADC has announced the commencement of a 90-day nationwide membership Mobilization, Revalidation, and Registration exercise as part of preparations to strengthen its internal structures ahead of upcoming party activities.

The party also approved provisional dates for congresses and the election of delegates at the polling unit, ward, and local government levels across the country.

The decision was communicated through official circulars issued by the National Secretary of the party, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, outlining a comprehensive roadmap for the congresses and the next national convention.

According to the circulars, the congresses have been provisionally scheduled to hold between January 20 and January 27, 2026. The process will culminate in a Non-Elective National Convention slated for February 2026 in Abuja.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said the approvals followed deliberations at the party’s National Working Committee meeting held on November 27, 2025.

Abdullahi explained that the planned activities are in full compliance with the relevant provisions of the party’s constitution and reflect the ADC’s commitment to internal democracy and broad-based participation.

He noted that the membership mobilization and revalidation exercise is aimed at updating the party’s register, expanding its grassroots presence, and positioning the ADC for effective participation in future electoral processes.

The party urged members and prospective members nationwide to take advantage of the registration window and actively participate in the congresses at all levels, describing the process as critical to building a stronger and more inclusive political platform.

The ADC reaffirmed its commitment to transparent party administration and democratic processes, stressing that the outlined activities are central to its ongoing efforts to consolidate its role as a credible national political force.

As a proud yet deeply concerned Nigerian, I refuse to accept that our brightest talents must continue fleeing to the West simply because our leadership has let us down. By God’s grace, I count myself fortunate to be one of the few young people gainfully employed here in Abuja, Nigeria—and I am fully committed to dedicating my energy, time, and abilities to the vital work of rebuilding and repositioning our great nation. So help me God!

There is a need to create a genuine grassroots mobilisation for His Excellency Peter Obi. Such that welcomes committed members who believe in service, integrity, and hard work. Our focus should centre on people mobilisation, voter education, and electoral reform as we prepare responsibly for 2027.```
