The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has addressed recent media reports concerning a ruling by the Federal High Court, presided over by Hon. Justice Joyce O. Abdulmalik, which allegedly nullifies the positions of the party’s elected—but not yet inaugurated—State Chairmen.
In an official press statement, the party clarified that the outcome of its recent congresses did not disrupt the tenure of the current State Executive Committees. According to the ADC, the existing executives are expected to complete their constitutionally mandated terms before any transition to newly elected officials takes place.
The party emphasized that this position had been clearly communicated in a statement released shortly after the congresses were conducted, reaffirming its commitment to due process and internal democratic principles.
In response to the reported court judgment, the ADC leadership has directed its legal team to conduct a thorough review of the ruling. The objective, the party noted, is to obtain informed legal guidance on the implications of the judgment and determine the most appropriate course of action.
